Dr. Hannelore Lee-Jahnke


Dr. Hannelore Lee-Jahnke, a professor of literature at University of Geneva. Dr. Lee-Jahnke has a PhD degree from University of Paul Valery in Montpellier, France. She is the secretary general of the International Standing Conference of University Institutes of Translators and Interpreters (CIUTI). She is also the president of the Swiss Association of Translators, Terminologists, and Interpreters (ASTTI), and the chair of the committee for training and qualification of translators at the International Federation of Translators.

Dr. Lee-Jahnke is a member of many professional translation organizations and associations, among them are: the Canadian Association of Translatorsand theEuropean Society for Translation Studies. Dr. Lee-Jahnke has worked on translation and its theories, translator training, and published many books and researches among them are New Approach in Translation Training, The Educational Aspects of Translation Evaluation, New Visions toward Learning Translation in Multilingual Countries, The Future of World Linguistic Communication, The Contemporary Quality Standards of Translation, The Field of Translation and the Winds of Change. 

Dr. Lee-Jahnke's efforts have a great impact in activating the translation movement and in understanding of translation theories and applications. Her studies have also contributed in fostering the cultural communication and knowledge transfer among human cultures.
