Terms of nomination


NOMINATION TERMS

1-Nominations may be submitted by individuals or institutions.
2- Nominations must adhere to the announced topics.
3- Translation must be either from or into Arabic.
4- Works of translation should be recent; their date of publication must not exceed five years before the date of nomination .
5- Works that have previously received an award for translation may not be nominated.
6- No more than one work per translator may be nominated.  


QUALIFICATIONS

1- Original text must be distinguished.
2- Text must be written in the standard, formal language.
3- Both original and translated texts must comply with intellectual property rights laws.
4- Accuracy in translation and precision in documentation must be observed. 


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1- A completed nomination form.
2- A written statement (1000 words) about the original text and the value of its translation.
3- Translator’s resume.
4- A copy of the permission of translation, granted by publisher of original text.
5- Three hard copies of original text and three hard copies of the translation (not to be returned whether or not the translation is awarded). 




NOMINATION TERMS

2- Nominated institutions must enjoy prominent reputation for their distinguished services in the field of translation from and into Arabic.
3- Institutions that have previously received the award may not be nominated.

2- Nominated institutions must comply with intellectual property laws.
3- Accuracy in translation and precision in documentation must be observed.  


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1- A completed nomination form.
2- A detailed report on the nominated institution’s activities relevant to translation.
3- Hard copies of selected works of translation published or funded by the nominated institution (not to be returned whether or not the institution is awarded) 




CANDIDACY CONDITIONS

1. Nominations may be submitted by individuals or institutions.
2. Translation efforts in the field of translation must be either from or into Arabic.


QUALIFICATIONS

A- Conditions of Efforts in the Field of Translation

1. The individual's efforts should contribute in activating and developing translation from and into Arabic.
2. The individual's initiatives should contribute in enhancing translation form and into Arabic.
3. The individual's work should contribute in fostering intercultural communications among cultures.  
4. The individual's work should contribute in authentic knowledge transfer among languages.  

B- Condition of Works in the Field of Translation

1. Books, translation works and studies should be distinguished.
2. Quality of scientitif work.
3. Respecting intellectual property.  


REQUIRED DOCUMENTS

1. Nomination Form.
2. Individual's efforts in the field of translation.
3. Curriculum vitae and personal picture  
4. Selected samples of works in the field of translation
5. Attaching, if available, official documents or recommendations proving the individual's efforts in the field of translation.
